Sometimes, knowing where to start is the hardest part of your fitness journey. At the Cortland Y, we offer three free orientations to make sure the first steps you make along the path are the right ones, so you can reach your goals safely and successfully.
Our fitness orientations are one-on-one sessions with a wellness staff member where you’ll learn how to use the weight machines and cardio equipment in our fitness center. Each session as a focus: upper body, lower body, and abs. As you go through the sessions, we’ll help you develop a workout log that includes all of the machines, your personal seat adjustments, and your initial weights, sets, and reps.
You’ll also learn more about your YMCA membership, fitness etiquette policies, and safety precautions to keep you, and all of our members, safe.
