Dear YMCA Members and Cortland Community Members:
We just learned that an individual in our facility last Wednesday and Thursday, the 7th and 8th of October, later tested positive for Covid-19. The affected individual (not a staff member) was here between 5:15 PM and 6:45 PM both days.
Our staff has maintained a regular cleaning schedule, with daily deep cleaning, since we reopened our facility on September 8th. In light of the potential exposure, we’ll be doing extra deep cleaning with a concentrated effort on the potentially affected areas. Because of that, the Y will be closed to the public on Wednesday, October 14th.
The Cortland County Health Department will start contact tracing and reach out to anyone who may have been exposed. In the meantime, we’d like to continue to encourage everyone to keep washing their hands, wearing masks, and practicing social distancing.
We appreciate your support, patience, and understanding as we work through this, and we know you all join us in wishing the affected member a speedy recovery.
Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for any new information or news, and we look forward to welcoming you back (again) on Thursday!
